Manchester - Trail to Timbuktu
You have arrived by river steamer at a small colonial outpost on the
border of the secret Tree Kingdom far up river, deep in the heart of
darkest Africa. From the deck you look down on the busy market port,
alive with all the contrasting sounds and smells of an exotic land.
Putting ashore, you are met by a clamourous crowd of street merchants, all eager to show their wares. Marvel at their acrobatic antics, as they try to distract your attention from rival traders and join in the good natured haggling that precedes every sale.
Guests can watch the ships crew perform exciting juggling tricks with the boxes and parcels from their cargo and you will be astonished at the feats of balance shown by the natives, as they carry wares on their heads. Impromptu displays of tribal drumming and frenzied dancing will add to the exciting atmosphere of this foreign port.
