Major Minors Nursery

Menu

Please note that we don’t serve beef, shellfish, nuts, sweet biscuits or chocolate, although chocolate may form part of a dessert (e.g. chocolate sauce).  We don’t add salt or use frying as a cooking method.  Fruit and/or vegetables form part of every snack and meal, with emphasis on always sourcing fresh ingredients where possible.  For drinks we serve only water and/or milk; and water is available to children throughout the day.  We may change the fresh fruit served at any given time to help ensure that it is fresh yet ripe.  If the day’s menu has to be changed in any way the change will be displayed that day on the Parents’ Notice Board.

Our chef has developed menus which provide both a nutritional purpose but also educational opportunity for the children. For example where carrot battons are used this becomes a colour and number discussion with the children. Texture, variety and the range of foods used is an additional way we seek to extend their learning.

Our catering team are able to provide appropriate alternatives for children with specific dietary needs covering a broad range of allergies and medical priorities. Preferences based on cultural beliefs are also accomodated as well as normal vegetarian preferences.
